for the annual Art in the Park exhibition
to be held near the Castle Rock Day Use Area in the Porongurup National Park
All funds raised from the exhibition go to the Friends of the Porongurup Range in order to continue the event, care for the Australia Heritage Listed Porongurup National Park and manage, conserve and protect the 511 hectare Twin Creeks Conservation Reserve which is not only owned by the Friends but is also part of Australia’s National Reserve System. |

Conditions of entry (Click here to download)
- General competition is open to all persons 16 years of age and over.
- Entries from under 18 years are also invited to enter the Youth Section (each exhibit to enter in one section only).
- Exhibit must not have won a prize in any previous art exhibition or competition.
- Entry is to be sculptural, broadly defined as a 3-dimensional exhibit.
- Any material suitable for extended outdoor exhibition may be used for the sculpture.
- Entrants are responsible for installing their display on site in a way that will ensure it will remain intact for the duration of the exhibition.
- Exhibits and the manner of installation should respect the natural setting of the exhibition site.
- To protect the environment of the National Park, exhibit must not damage any of the surrounding native vegetation.
- Exhibition site can be accessed from Castle Rock Rd, please contact us for directions if you wish to inspect the site prior to the event.
- All delivery vehicles and exhibits must be free from soil from any dieback area.
- Access for set up is only allowed between 9am to 5pm on Thursday March 29 2018. Exhibits must be in place by this time. To install earlier, a special appointment is needed from the organisers.
- No vehicular traffic will be allowed in the exhibition site during the exhibition opening times except for disability visitors – please ask at desk for directions.
- Entry forms with $15 fee per entry for Youth or $20 per entry for general open category to be received by 5pm on March 16 2018. Exhibits may include multiple pieces as long as they have a cohesive theme (example 'Butterflies in the Park').
- To be complete, each entry form must name the artist and exhibit, describe materials and provide notes about the work that will be included in the catalogue available to patrons.
- Application to enter carries with it permission for organisers to use images of exhibits for publicity purposes of Art in the Park.
- Artwork can be available for sale with a commission of 20% of selling price payable to the Friends of the Porongurup Range Inc. Please include sale price of exhibit on form. Organisers ask that you do not use POA, the exhibit should be marked For Sale or Not for sale.
- Exhibits can only be removed by artists or purchasers after Awards Presentations on Saturday April 7 2018. If unable to collect on this day, please make arrangements for someone to do so on your behalf. No responsibility will be taken for art works remaining on site after 5pm on April 7 2018.
- Public voting will close at 5pm on April 6 2018. The Awards Presentation will be held at 11am on Saturday April 7 at the exhibition site followed by refreshments. All artists, family and friends are invited.
- For security no access will be permitted between 5pm and 9am to the exhibition site unless by prior arrangement. The venue will be staffed 24 hours a day for the duration of the exhibition and set-up.
- All care will be taken by the organisers (Friends of the Porongurup Range Inc) but if property insurance is required, exhibitors should arrange their own. The organisers reserve the right to exclude an entry.
